The “Ancient Orient Museum” in Tokyo exhibited “Recent Discoveries from Ancient Jordan: Japanese Contributions to Archaeological Research” from February 6th until the 28th of March 2021. HE Ambassador Annab, along with Embassy staff, visited the Exhibition and was received by Dr TSUKIMOTO Aiko, Director of the Museum, Mr. SHIMOGAMA Kazuya, Curator of the Exhibition, Ms. TSUMURA Makiko, Chief Curator of the Museum.
The exhibition showcased research work by Japanese archaeologists and researchers on selected archaeological sites in Jordan dating back to the Paleolithic period and other recorded historical and pre-historical periods covering the Calcolithic Period, Early Bronze Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Hellenistic Period, Roman Period, Byzantine Period and ending with the Islamic Period.

ヨルダン川の彼方の考古学 —ヨルダン考古学最新事情展について

東京の古代オリエント博物館は、2021年2月6日から3月28日まで「ヨルダン川の彼方の考古学 —ヨルダン考古学最新事情」という特別展を開催しました。リーナ・アンナーブ駐日大使と大使館職員がこの展示会に訪れた際、博物館理事の月本昭子博士、学芸員の下間和也氏、主任学芸員の津村眞輝子氏に温かく出迎えられました。
この展示会では、ヨルダンの遺跡における先史時代から旧石器時代、銅器時代、青銅器時代初期、青銅器時代、鉄器時代、ヘレニズム時代、ローマ帝国時代、ビザンツ帝国時代、そしてイスラーム帝国時代という広範囲にわたる日本の考古学者と研究者による研究の成果を紹介しています。
