Mr. Ali Al-Arabiyat 

Deputy Chief of Mission

Mr. Al-Arabiyat joined the Embassy in Tokyo in August 2023 after serving as the Acting Director of the North American Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates from August 2022.

Prior to that, he was the Deputy Chief of Mission in Washington from August 2018 to August 2022. Mr. Al Arabiyat has also held assignments in Cairo, Seoul, and Berlin since his entry into the Foreign Service in 2003.

Mr. Al-Arabiyat holds an MBA from Sejong University in partnership with Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Arts from Al Yarmouk University, College of Economics.

Ms. Salma ElTaweel

Counsellor

Ms. ElTaweel joined the Embassy in August 2022, and is a career diplomat since 2004. she served in several Jordanian missions since that date, starting from the Embassy of Jordan in Rome, The Jordanian Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva , the Embassy of Jordan in Moscow as Deputy Head of Mission, from August 2017 to August 2018, and then as political officer till 2021.

Ms. ElTaweel started her career in 2001 in the field of Journalism. News editor and reporter for Albawabeh.com and then went on to join The star a prominent Jordanian weekly and did free-lance work till 2004 when she joined the ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ms. ElTaweel holds a Master Degree in “International Studies and Diplomacy” from The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) / London University;  and a Bachelor degree in “English Literature ” from The University in Jordan.

Mr. Mohammad Lutfi Al Khalidi 

Counsellor

Mr. Mohammad Al Khalidi joined the Embassy in October 2020, and is a career diplomat since 2007. He served between 2009-2013 at the Embassy of Jordan in Kuwait, and in 2015 at the Embassy in Teheran as Deputy Head of Mission, and Chargé d’affaires a.i. from April 2016 till August 2019.

Mr. Khalidi started his career in 2004 in the field of Museums. In 2006, he became the curator of the Dead Sea Museum at the Dead Sea Panoramic Complex.

Mr Khalidi holds a Master Degree in “Business Administration / Marketing” from The Arab Academy for Financial and Banking Sciences;  and a Bachelors of Science in “Cultural Heritage Management and Museum Sciences” from Queen Rania Institute of Tourism and Heritage at the Hashemite University in Jordan.

Mr. Atallah Salem Abdallah Alshraideh

Military Attaché

Brigadier General Infantry Atallah Salem Abdallah Alshraideh is the Defense, Military Attaché at the Embassy of Jordan in Japan. Prior to assuming his duties in Japan, GS Alshraideh served in several key leadership and administrative positions throughout his career that started in the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army in the year 1988.

GS Alshraideh holds Bachelor degrees in Physics & Military Science, and a Master’s degree in Military and Administrative Science. In addition, GS Alshraideh holds Diplomas in Military Science & National Resource Management.
