Former Prime Minister of Jordan Mr. Taher Masri held on Thursday November 5th an online courtesy meeting with members of the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Japan. The meeting comes on the sidelines of his current private visit to Japan.
During the one-hour meeting which was attended by 17 Arab Ambassadors and Chargés d’Affaires, a variety of current regional and global issues were discussed.
Mr. Masri is currently in Tokyo following the decision of the Government of Japan to confer on him the decoration of the “Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun”, the highest-class Japanese decoration extended to foreigners. The Conferment Ceremony is due to take place at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on November 11th.
The decoration is in recognition of the friendly relations between Jordan and Japan as well as Jordan’s pivotal and peaceful role in bringing peace and stability to the region. It is also a testimony to His Excellency’s contributions in strengthening bilateral friendly relations between Jordan and Japan, in addition to his outstanding achievements in public life.

タヘル・マスリ元首相兼上院議長は、2020年11月5日（木）に、駐日アラブ大使のグループとZoomを介したオンライン表敬会議を開催しました。
約1時間に及ぶ会議には、17名を超える駐日アラブ大使や臨時代理大使が参加しました。 参加者の間では、相互に関心のある問題や、地域や時事問題などについて意見交換を行う絶好の機会となりました。
マスリ氏は、日本政府から外国人に与えられる最高位の勲章である旭日大綬章を授与されることが決定し、東京に到着しました。 今回の叙勲は、マスリ閣下の公務における卓越した業績に加え、日本とヨルダンの友好関係強化に多大な貢献をされたことに対する謝意を表したものです。

تم عقد لقاء ما بين دولة رئيس الوزراء الأسبق السيد طاهر المصري مع مجموعة السفراء العرب لدى اليابان عبر وسائل التواصل المرئي (زوم) يوم الخميس الموافق 5-11-2020
هذا وتناول اللقاء الذي استمر لمدة ساعة وحضره سبعة عشر سفيراً عربياً عدداً من المواضيع المتعلقة بالشؤون العربية والإقليمية والدولية وشكّل فرصة لتبادل الآراء والأفكار حولها
وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن دولة السيد طاهر المصري متواجد حالياً في العاصمة طوكيو حيث كانت قد قررت الحكومة اليابانية منحه الوسام الإمبراطوري الياباني “الوشاح الأكبر وسام الشمس المشرقة تقديراً لمساهمته في تعزيز أواصر التعاون الثنائي بين المملكة واليابان. ويعد هذا الوسام أعلى درجات التكريم التي تمنح لشخصيات قيادية أجنبية قامت بإنجازات بارزة في العلاقات الدولية وبمساهمات هامة ساعدت في تقدم مجالاتهم
