Tokyo Monday February 19, 2024: Prime Minister Al Khasawneh met with Mr. SASAKI Mikio, chairman of Middle East Institute of Japan (MEIJ). Following the meeting Al Khasawneh delivered a talk with the president and members of the institute and a group of politicians and diplomats.
Al Khasawneh stressed that his current visit to Japan coincides with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Jordan and Japan, pointing to the outstanding relations, strategic partnership, and the friendly relations between Jordan’s Royal Family and Japan’s imperial family.
Al-Khasawneh highlighted developments in the regional situation, especially related to the Israeli aggression and war on Gaza, and briefed the president and members of the institute on the tireless efforts undertaken by His Majesty King Abdullah II to stop the war on Gaza and to ensure the delivery of aid in an urgent and sustainable manner, stressing that the only solution to the conflict is through the two-state solution that leads to the establishment of an independent sovereign Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
